Todd is a member of LGWM's Insurance Coverage and Professional Liability Practice Groups. Todd litigates complex commercial and civil cases across the Southeast and beyond, including insurance coverage, bad faith actions and a variety of professional liability matters.

Todd has experience litigating complex coverage issues arising from general liability claims, professional liability claims, errors and omissions claims, and property and casualty claims. Todd defends clients in cases involving property claims, breach of contract claims, contractual indemnity claims, cyber law and insurance coverage disputes.

Prior to joining LGWM, Todd worked at the Chicago office of a large international firm, and was responsible for all stages of complex civil and commercial litigation. In addition to Alabama, he has litigated or managed claims in state and federal courts in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah.

Outside the office, Todd and his wife, a teacher at Crestline Elementary, keep busy raising their daughter and twin sons. He and his wife are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.

  • Represented an Insurance Agent and successfully obtained dismissal on a negligent procurement claim with Plaintiff seeking in excess of $20 million in damages.
  • Successfully recovered a confidential seven-figure subrogation recovery for the property insurer of a large manufacturing facility which sustained damages from an electrical fire caused by an international component supplier.
  • Obtained summary judgment for a European manufacturer on a product liability claim in a subrogation lawsuit over damages stemming from the alleged improper design and construction of a sewage water treatment plant.

  • Negotiated the dismissal of a Carrier in a protracted coverage matter with multiple parties, spanning three related lawsuits, concerning the repair and mold remediation efforts at a hotel construction project.
  • Represented a software company in a complex cyber-law dispute over the misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary information, and alleged breaches of multiple employer, contractor and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Recovered $890,000 for a subrogated Carrier and apartment complex owner against a flooring contractor who ignited a quick-spreading fire through the negligent application of polyurethane floor sealant.
  • Successfully defended an Insurance Agent and obtained dismissal on claims of breach of contract and bad faith in an auto policy insurance denial lawsuit.
  • Secured a 100% subrogation recovery for a market of Carriers for damages sustained to a hotel property from a flood caused by an intoxicated guest.
  • Defended and negotiated a nominal settlement on behalf of an international engineering firm in a lawsuit filed by a plaintiff who sustained life-threatening spinal cord injuries while riding a rollercoaster.
