Michelle is a member of LGWM's Labor and Employment Practice Group. Michelle has experience defending employers against lawsuits brought in state and federal court and in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Michelle defends clients in discrimination claims arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal and state anti-discrimination statutes. Michelle also has experience defending hostile work environment and retaliatory discharge claims, including claims arising under the Alabama's Workers' Compensation Act. Additionally, Michelle has experience litigating wage and hour disputes and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Michelle assists clients with internal investigations, preparation of employment policies and procedures, employee discipline decisions and other personnel and compliance issues.
The remainder of Michelle's practice is devoted to assisting clients with general liability claims, including negligence, breach of contract, fraud and indemnification claims.
