Greg is a Shareholder with LGWM and manages the Pensacola, Florida office of the firm. Since taking over the office in January 2020, he has expanded the office from one attorney and one paralegal to a staff of eight with five attorneys licensed in Florida and Alabama. Greg practices in LGWM’s Architects and Engineers/Design Professionals, Environmental, Construction, General Liability, Employment and Medical & Healthcare Law Practice Groups. Greg represents regularly represents architects, engineers and other design professionals in design and construction defect cases throughout Florida. Beyond that Greg regularly represents general contractors and subcontractors in that same type of litigation.  Over his twenty-five year career in Florida, Greg has handled other professional liability matters involving attorneys, insurance agents, real estate agents, accountants and other professionals.  He has also devoted a substantial portion of his career to the defense of health care professionals, stand alone clinics and laboratories, skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities. Greg has handled cases in nearly every county in Florida and tried cases to verdict in nearly every county in northwest Florida.

  • Represented General Contractor in a Condominium case in Bay County, Florida with allegations of structural and waterproofing defects.
  • Represented Architect in a Condominium case in Walton County, Florida with allegations of design defects related to waterproofing and window detailing.
  • Represented Civil Engineer in Leon County, Florida with allegations of design defects related to stormwater drainage.
  • Represented Architect in a Condominium case in Okaloosa County, Florida with allegations of design defects including exterior envelope waterproofing and ADA violations.
  • Represented Structural Engineer in a Condominium case in Escambia County, Florida with allegations of design defects including inappropriate storm hardening in violation of the Florida Building Code.

  • Represented Psychiatrist sued in Chapter 766 claim involving death from alleged medication interaction but obtained summary judgment from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
  • Represented multiple physicians sued in Chapter 766 claims including for birth injuries, medication interactions, surgical errors and other assorted claims.
  • Represented multiple allied health centers sued in Chapter 766 claims for negligent hiring, negligent credentialing and breaches of patient confidentiality.
  • Represented hotel operators in Escambia County, Florida in multiple wage and hour cases involving overtime and minimum wage issues.
  • Represented General Contractor in Bay County, Florida in numerous wrongful termination and employment discrimination cases.

Trials of Note

  • Represented a contractor in a three-week long arbitration involving claims of more than $18,000,000.00 in damages for alleged defective work on military base. The arbitration result, although confidential, was for substantially less than one half of the amount sought.
  • Represented a national assisted living facility chain in front of the Agency for Health Care Administration on Motions to Deny Renewal Licensure Application and for Administrative Fines. Negotiated a settlement that allowed the facility to renew its license and continue operation in the state of Florida after submitting a detailed Plan of Correction.
  • Co-lead counsel for a national skilled nursing facility chain in a Chapter 400 claim that was tried to verdict in Escambia County, Florida. Plaintiff’s verdict of approximately $400,000.00 was rendered by a jury. This verdict was the same amount offered at mediation and nearly $5,000,000.00 less than
  • Plaintiff’s counsel asked for in closing arguments.
  • Represented a national automotive dealer in a premises liability case that resulted in a defense verdict.
  • Represented a UM carrier in an auto accident case that resulted in a defense verdict that was later upheld on appeal at the First District Court of Appeals.
  • Represented a national retail chain in a premises liability case that resulted in a verdict for less than one fifth of the amount requested at trial.
  • Represented a regional contractor in a trucking accident case at trial. The verdict against the regional contractor was approximately one tenth of the amount sought by Plaintiff at trial.
  • Represented a national manufacturer in a products liability case that resulted in a defense verdict in a bench trial.
  • Second chair on multiple medical malpractice trials with several resulting in defense verdicts in the earliest parts of his career.
