Mike practices in LGWM's General Liability, Architects and Engineers, Construction and Professional Liability Practice Groups. Mike's practice consists of providing clients guidance and advice on claims handling and pre-suit resolution as well as defending claims in litigation to a conclusion. Mike frequently represents architects and engineers in industrial, commercial and residential construction litigation throughout the Southeast. Mike has extensive experience defending workers’ compensation and outrage claims and is one of a few lawyers in Alabama who specialized in defending both local and national fraternal organizations. Mike has tried a variety of cases throughout Alabama, including claims of medical malpractice, automobile negligence, contract disputes and workers’ compensation. Mike is an AV Preeminent-rated attorney and was recognized as a Thomas Reuters' Mid-South Super Lawyer in 2022.
Mike became a member of the Alabama Bar in 1998 after graduating from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Mike is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama. Mike is currently a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is one of a few lawyers in Alabama to obtain the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. Mike has frequently presented on workers’ compensation, transportation issues, and construction defect litigation.
