Summer primarily practices in LGWM's Labor and Employment Practice Group. Summer represents and counsels individual and company employers wherever and whenever labor and employment issues arise. Specifically, Summer represents clients before administrative bodies, including the EEOC, and in state and federal courts. She vigorously defends discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims brought under federal laws and retaliatory discharge claims under Alabama's Workers’ Compensation Act. Additionally, Summer provides counsel to employers before the filing of a formal claim to prevent costly litigation. This counsel includes providing general advice, drafting and revising employment policies and procedures, and training managers and employees.

The remainder of Summer's' practice is devoted to Professional Liability and General Litigation. She has experience defending clients involved in complex commercial disputes and facing lawsuits alleging personal injuries and wrongful death.
