Full Bio

Dawson Ogletree practices in LGWM’s Medical and Healthcare Law and Professional Liability Practice Groups. His practice focuses on defending physicians, nurses, mid-level providers, and healthcare institutions in medical malpractice actions, as well as representing attorneys and law firms in legal malpractice cases. In addition, Dawson also has experience handling construction litigation, representing contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals across Alabama and Tennessee.

Before joining LGWM, Dawson practiced in Nashville, Tennessee, where he gained significant litigation experience at every stage, including pre-suit investigations, motion practice, alternative dispute resolution, trial, and appellate work. Notably, Dawson secured a defense verdict in April 2024 for an urgent care physician in a two-week wrongful death and healthcare liability jury trial in Montgomery County, Tennessee.

Dawson earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and simultaneously completed his M.B.A. from the Brock School of Business. While in law school, Dawson honed his advocacy skills as a member of the Trial Advocacy Board and competed in several mock trial and alternative dispute resolution competitions. Before attending law school, Dawson served as a Congressional Intern for former U.S. Senator Richard Shelby.

Outside of work, Dawson enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, duck hunting, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
