Our History
Lloyd, Gray, Whitehead & Monroe (LGWM) has a rich history that dates back to 1989 when Jim Lloyd and Jim Gray took the bold step to open a new law firm. With a team of four attorneys and four assistants, we embarked on a journey to establish a legal practice that would distinguish us from the rest. In 1992, our vision expanded as Steve Whitehead joined the firm, bringing his expertise and experience to strengthen our capabilities.
As the years passed, LGWM continued to grow and evolve. In 2000, the firm went through some significant changes, resulting in a change of name to Lloyd, Gray, & Whitehead. This change reflected our commitment to providing comprehensive legal services and marked a milestone in our journey. A decade later, in 2010, we renamed again, becoming Lloyd, Gray, Whitehead & Monroe, as Britt Monroe joined as a partner, contributing his knowledge and skills to our collective expertise.
LGWM carved a unique niche for ourselves in the legal industry. While most law firms focus on personal injury cases, we took a different path. We specialize in insurance coverage, environmental issues, product defects and representing engineers. With a dedicated focus on defending insurance companies, LGWM stood apart from the multitude of personal injury attorneys vying for clients. We became known as trusted defense attorneys, providing invaluable legal support to our clients in complex cases.
Our success led to further expansion in 2017 when we opened an office in Pensacola, Florida. This strategic move allowed us to extend our reach and provide exceptional services to clients in new territories.
